NGHA to admit new conjoined twins  
Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, the Chief Executive Officer of National Guard Health Affairs, announced that they are getting ready to admit a Somali mother pregnant with conjoined twins.

This announcement was in the opening of the High Risk Pregnancy Conference. The mother is currently in Jeddah where she will undergo tests and examinations for the next two months, before making a decision in regards to her case.

The first international conference of its kind started in Riyadh yesterday under the auspices of the NGHA.  Leading international and local experts in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology will be attending the conference. A wide variety of topics and issues are tackled in this event where the attendants learn new trends in diagnosing high risk pregnancies. As part of the event there will be workshops to demonstrate techniques and approaches in managing labor events, postpartum depression and fetal monitoring.

Dr. Al Rabeeah revealed the news of expanding the intensive care departments in Riyadh and Jeddah which are expected to be done in the next few months. He stated that this expansion will relieve the pressure on the emergency department which will be expanded up to 30 percent. Also the Cardiac Sciences Center is under expansion which will be done in the next two months. An establishment of the Trauma Department in the next few months is also taken into consideration.  

Last the CEO of NGHA stressed the importance of these kinds of conferences as they provide new additions to the early detection of the risks of pregnancy on the fetus and the mother as well. It also promotes modern technology in providing the best care for pregnant women.

The organizing committee of the program invited speakers from various international and local advanced centers. Some of the international experts are Professor Arulkumaran from the British Royal College for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Halliday, head of the European Genetics Association,  and Professors Steer and Lamont whom are recognized for their achievements in Preterm Labor. Last but not least, Professor Christiansen who is known for his great contributions in the pregnancy loss field. 

Some of the local speakers whom are well known for their great contributions are, Professor Hassan Ba Aqeel, Professor Hassan Jamal, Professor Khaled Al Rubaian, Dr. Ahmed Kurdi, Dr. Wisam Kurdi and Dr. Sameer Abdullah.
