Disaster Management Department at Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital – Dammam has successfully conducted disaster drill in men in-patients ward.

As the prepared scenario, an envelopes in men in-patients ward was identified with suspected bacterial substance, the on call nurse activated directly the orange code. The Fire Department and Infection Control Team have attended to handle this case. They evaluate the section by moving 5 patients to other ward. In the same time, the medical administration in the hospital has been notified to activate the black code in the hospital.

It is worth mentioning that Civil Defense squad participated alongside with  Disaster, Emergency and Emergency Transport Committee in Eastern region.

Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs (MNG-HA) in the Eastern Region has pointed out: “MNG-HA is keen on conducting such drills that aim to increase the health workers efficiency that raise the work quality and productivity. Such preparations, achieves the strategic plans set by MNG-HA to reach the idle level in medical services scales.”

According to the procedures, Disaster Management will evaluate the general performance to the hospital staff to identify the positive points and strengthen them and to avoid possible mistakes in the next drills.
