- One of the major achievements for this year is our initial accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
- Maintaining the quality of JCIA standards throughout the laboratory sections.
- Broadening the scope of pathology services with the new implementation of more toxicology tests “Drugs of Abuse” and therapeutic monitoring of some drugs.
- Fine Needle Aspiration Clinics in Al Ahsa and Dammam.
- Establishing Tumor Board with its multidisciplinary team, where the Surgical Pathologist plays a major role.
- Addition of numerous policies and procedures at various sections according to CAP (College of American Pathologists) standards.
- Scholarship plan for Medical Technologists:
- Creation of 14 posts for Saudi medical technologists for six (6) months.
- Two (2) candidates have already left for:
- Master degree in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Healthcare, in Australia.
- Master degree in Laboratory Information System in Riyadh, NGHA.
- One (1) medical technologist left for Cytopathology curriculum at King Saud University for health sciences, NGHA, Riyadh.
