Mother-baby care is a critical component of family-centred philosophy. It reflects the family-centred perspective for assessment, planning and delivery of care to women and newborns. Family-centred care sets the tone foe respect of diversity in family structure and cultural backgrounds.

The mother-baby unit consists of 35 semi-private, and private rooms and VIP suite; conference room and patient education areas. The unit also provides care for high-risk antepartum, postpartum and gynaecological patients. In addition, speciality services of colposcopy and perinatology are available.

In conjunction with World Health Organization (WHO)/UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) the unit is “baby-friendly” and promotes bonding and exclusive breast feeding.
