Department of Infection Prevention and Control

Introduction:

The Department of Infection Prevention and Control is comprised of three main sections.  Each section has its own objectives, goals, activities, and achievements, and each provides specific services to the hospital, affiliated clinics, and communities in the central region.  It also oversees the activities and collaborates with the Infection Prevention and Control programs of the Western and Eastern provinces.
 


Divisions and Staff:

The Department of Infection Prevention and Control has three directors one for each different division:

  • Hospital Infection Control Section:  To support the National Guard mission of promoting patient safety by reducing the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections; and to become a leader in our region in health care epidemiology and infection control.

  • Public Health and Field Epidemiology Section: Public health section is focused on how to determine specifically the infectious diseases in National Guard community, promote health and prevent spread of infection.

  • Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Section: Our goal is to promote the health and productivity of employees of the NGHA KAMC by preventing and managing occupational and environmental injuries, illnesses and disabilities. We are committed to fostering a safe and healthful environment for patients, employees, visitors and communities.
