National Guard Health Affairs is a large health organization providing modern medical care to National Guard employees and their dependents. It employs a large staff of physicians, nurses, technicians and administrators to meet the needs of the patients. Therefore it has many departments to ensure outstanding performance. |

The Public Relations and Media Affairs Department is considered to be at the forefront of National Guard Health Affairs through its numerous programs aimed at clarifying the organization’s activities throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with divisions in the Central, Western and Eastern Region.
The department also arranges all aspects related to conferences, medical symposiums and receptions held in all regions and provides guests with information on the organization and culture, as well as arranging tours of medical centers and visits to various landmarks.
Public Relations and Media Affairs oversee all aspects of media coverage for all significant events including separation operations for conjoined twins; liver operations and open hear surgeries. |

The Financial Affairs Division functions on a Corporate/Regional level and is responsible for managing the inflow and outflow of allocated funds for National Guard Health Affairs' Hospital Programs and its facilities, as well as non-MOF financial activities.
Financial Affairs provides National Guard Health Affairs with the highest quality service ensuring the efficiency, accuracy of financial transactions and interprets financial information, oversees the preparation and monitoring of budgets and strategic financial planning on a corporate level, as well as timely generation of financial reports. |

The Employee Social Club provides great services at minimum monthly fees; the employee is eligible for priority booking and trips, dining centers and restaurants, shopping malls and franchised stores. We also offer free interest, employee loans that can be processed on an emergency basis.
Recreational facilities include: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, movie theatre, tennis, carts, bowling, squash, badminton, aerobics, Irish football, Taekwondo, Karate, billiards, basketball, gym, arts and crafts, family getaways, youth trips, barbeques and weekend brunches. Trips are provided to all Golf Driving Range, Arabian Horse Farms and other Saudi Cities of cultural significance. |
| Two departments, Logistics Services and Contracts Management, were amalgamated into one division effective December 2004, now known as Logistic and Contracts Management. Both departments have similar functions and responsibilities, to provide the needed supplies, consumables, equipment, construction and services in National Guard Health Affairs. |

The International Nursing and Paramedical Recruitment Department is responsible of selecting the highest quality potential candidates from a broad spectrum of nationalities to work at National Guard Health Affairs' hospitals through recruitment trips.
During recruitment trips, a glimpse about King Abdulaziz Medical Cities is presented to give the potential candidates an introduction about King Abdulaziz Medical Cities Hospitals. These trips are arranged to: Malaysia, South Africa, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Singapore.
The department hands out promotional materials such as introductory guide to the potential candidates about King Abdulaziz Medical Cities, multi media CDs, pamphlets and posters which were disseminated to the recruitment agencies to further maximize the advertisement of King Abdulaziz Medical Cities hospitals. |

|
Clinical Engineering Services is responsible for the management of medical technology at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Iskan Poloyclinic, and HCSC. This is accomplished through the implementation of specific programs aimed at the safe and effective use of medical technology by well trained Saudi professionals.
The department has installed a new improved data base (through an automated system) to handle the data entry of all requisitions from all National Guard Health Affairs departments. Such requirements will be evaluated before being approved, to avoid any duplication or redundancy. |

The Electronic Health Services was founded on July 2008. The Department is responsible of the following internet websites:

- King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences website.
The department's mission is to facilitate the process of getting medical and educational information through the websites. In addition to that it develops the electronic services that are provided by the websites.

The Communications Department offers various telephone and communication systems support for the private and business needs of National Guard Health Affairs employees. All Program Employees are entitled to obtain a “Personal Access Code” for their national and/or international telephone calls.

Engineering Services mission is to provide National Guard Health Affairs with all necessary professional design, construction, site supervision, and maintenance services to keep, restore, improve or add to the National Guard Health Affairs’ physical assets and sustain the upkeep of such facilities at the most efficient and cost effective level. Engineering Services is composed of the following sections:

- Building Services and Projects Task Force Division.

| Environmental Awareness & Recycling Programs |
| A voluntary group of King Abdulaziz Medical City staff joined together in 1994 to form a Recycling Committee. Their first success was the introduction of waste paper and cardboard recycling, which has expanded over the years as King Abdulaziz Medical City has grown. As the awareness continues to develop in Saudi Arabia of the importance of recycling there have been active research and search for companies that would be interested in recycling to gain benefits of recycling. |

The mission of the Quality Management Department is to support and facilitate all areas of the National Guard Health Affairs Healthcare System in providing the highest quality services through a strong interdisciplinary team. It promotes the development of Quality Management professionals who are able to embrace proven theory, evaluate research and communicate effectively with other health professionals, peers and community.
Year 2004 was a turning point for Quality Management with the amalgamation of Quality Management Primary Healthcare and the King Abdulaziz Medical City Quality Management Department. |

The Planning and Statistics Division provides support for informed and effective decision-making across the organization through evaluation, surveillance and research, based on analytical studies and statistical information. The Division includes two departments:

Internal Audit is a recognized professional management support department of National Guard Health Affairs. It functions independently and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. It provides management with comprehensive and diversified appraisals of the whole operation, which includes management of all divisions and departments in all National Guard Health Affairs' Regions with the main objective of protecting and maximizing the utilization of resources which include but are not limited to funds, manpower, equipment, installations, utilities, supplies, etc.

| Infection Prevention & Control Department |

The Department Goals are:
- To maintain a comprehensive system to monitor all infectious diseases and epidemics in the kingdom.
- To set strategies to control endemic infectious diseases within the community (TB, Brucellosis, Hepatitis, etc).
- To evaluate and implement action to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, personnel and visitors.
- To prevent infectious diseases in all our population through different campaigns like vaccination campaigns for children and soldiers,
- Educational campaigns to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
- Prevent hospital- acquired infections in our patients which contribute to morbidity and mortality and increase cost.
The Departments Daily Activities Include:
- Food Services Inspections.
- Water Inspection.
- Air Inspection.
- Multi-Resistant Bacterial Monitoring.
- Prevention of Needle Stick Injuries among Healthcare Workers.
