The basic philosophy of the Clinical Dietitians is that individualized nutrition care is provided throughout each patient's hospitalization and appropriate follow-up care be offered upon discharge. To accomplish this goal, the nutritional status of each patient is screened within 24 hours of admission followed with in-depth nutritional assessment for patients with nutritional risk.
The Department of Nutrition at KAMC-J provides a dietetic service to all inpatient units and to specialist outpatient clinics. Dietitians are university qualified specialists in the area of nutrition and its role in health and diseases as well as they are available to consult on all aspects of infant and child nutrition including assessment, recommendations for nutritional management and implementation of therapeutic diets within the hospital.
