Out-Patient services:

The Clinical Nutrition Department has a regular clinic for all out-patients. The nutrition clinic is open daily from Saturday to Wednesday for all out-patients in need of nutritional advice, intervention and even follow-up. It covers the following: Adult Dietetics, Pediatric Dietetics, Pediatric Oncology, and Adult Oncology, Metabolic, Peritoneal Dialysis and all of the cases in Business Center.

• Metabolic and Inborn Disorders Patients:

 Nutrition Services commenced a specialized Nutrition Metabolic Outpatient Clinic.

• Diabetic and Endocrine Patients:

Nutrition Services commenced a specialized Nutrition Diabetic and Endocrine Outpatient Clinics

• Dar Al Aman Health Care Center:
• All patients are reviewed on a regular basis depending on their needs.
• The Clinical Dietitian is scheduled to visit the patients twice per month.
• Full nutrition assessment and calculation of dietary requirements initially and then periodically as status of the patient requires.
• Dietitian will communicate with the nurse and physician in ensuring that the correct feeding protocol is followed.
• The dietitian will receive the feedback from nurses and physician regarding any changes in the patients’ status that needs modification in the diet.
• The dietitian will attend any meetings or ward rounds with the health care team once a week.
• Diet preferences for patients on oral diets are taken on a regular basis as patients request changes to their diets. This feedback is then communicated to the Food Service who is adapting the diet.
• The dietitian will communicate with the Food Service and suggest any changes to the quality and type of foods served to patients as needed.
