Ultrasound
Last Update: 17 Jan 2012 08:54 AM
An ultrasound exam is a safe diagnostic procedure that uses very high-frequency sound waves to produce an image of many of the internal structures of the body.

This non-invasive specialty utilizes high frequency sound waves to display images of the internal organs and structures. The sonographer provides patient imaging information under the supervision of a Radiologist.  The sonographer assists the Radiologist in gathering pertinent anatomical, physiological, and/or pathological data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions.
