The Department of Medicine is comprised of 11 clinical sections with 39 Consultants, 2 Associate Consultants, 9 Assistant Consultants, 10 Staff Physicians, 3 Board Certified/Eligible Physicians, 34 Residents (R1 – R5), 2 Clinical Psychologist, 8 Scholars Abroad, and 5 Admin Assistants.
The Department of Medicine recognizes that the recruitment of high-caliber individuals is essential to achieve the excellent training environment for which it is striving. Responsibility and authority for decision-making is delegated from the Chair to the Section Heads and in turn to the individual consultants and more junior physicians in a graduated manner. Responsibility, authority and accountability are proportionate to the rank of the physician in the Section.
Current Number of Staff:
The Department continues to grow and develop; however, challenges remain. These include maintaining the very best quality of patient care in light of continuing increase in patient load and space limitation.
