The 6th CAP Accreditation for King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa Laboratories
The College of American Pathologists recently accredited the Laboratory Department King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa with the CAP Accreditation and Laboratory Improvement for the 6th consecutive time as one of the leading laboratories in the world. The Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs in the Eastern Region Dr. Ahmed Alarfj said: “Due to the unlimited support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince - May Allah preserve them, this recognition is a clear indication of what we have achieved in the MNG-HA in regards to the high levels of quality patient care.”
Dr. Ahmed Alarfj added, " this recognition confirms the extent of medical quality that we seek to provide, through adhering to the required quality standards, as for the College of American Pathologists grants this international accreditation to those who meet the highest quality standards, and pass the laboratory tests and measurements, and this what makes the achievement valuable ".
Moreover, Dr. Alarfj pointed out that: "the Commission which evaluated the laboratories was made up of a dedicated team who were dispatched around the laboratory sections, including the safety, quality, management and all departments, without any exceptions".
He also explained that: " amongst the sections that were evaluated was the blood bank, Immunology, microbiology, hematology, Anatomical pathology, cytology, toxicology, the collection of receiving of blood samples.
Additionally, the assessment was very impressive and positive as the committee declared that the laboratories are save with high standards quality, and such evaluation is conducted every two years where our first accreditation was back in 2009, and we are so proud to have received such international accreditation for the 5th time”.
