After Being Launched in Riyadh, the New Laboratory Information System is Now Live in Jeddah
A continuation of what the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs started in the digital transformation journey for the new laboratory information system project, which was developed within the Electronic Health Record System "BestCare", the first phase of the project was launched in the Central Region in King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh and all primary health care centers, which included 17 centers.
King Abdulaziz Medical City - Jeddah and its primary health care centers were the second phase in which the new laboratory information system project was implemented with the participation of doctors, nurses, technicians and all health practitioners. Furthermore, the project will be soon launched in the remaining MNG-HA’s medical cities, Dammam, Al-Ahsa and Al Madina.
Coinciding with the launch of the New Laboratory Information System (LIS), an integrated technical support team and a Hot-Line were established to provide technical support around the clock to all NGHA Health practitioners and system users.
The New Laboratory Information System (LIS) is characterized as a project with a strategic dimension for MNG-HA, as it aims to process and store patient data in a unified database and bypass the challenges of linking the medical systems in the facility, as well as to reduce the operational cost of the systems, and to transfer, localize knowledge and eliminate future costs when implemented in new health facilities.
