Library Use and Conduct

  • Creating excessive noise, or using audible radios, walkmans, talking loudly on cell phones is discouraged and may be confronted.
  • While the library is open to all users who are in need for information contained in the library’s collection, circulation of items, certain audiovisual and computer based resources are limited to those connected with the library.
  • The Health Sciences Library will notify security concerning any misbehavior or criminal behavior in the library area as well as ctivities, which will draw particular attention, including, but not limited to; theft, vandalism, exhibitionism, and/or assault, including verbal threat, and inappropriate materials found on a workstation site.
  • The Health Sciences Library must be evacuated during an emergency situation. This includes but not limited to; drills, fire alarms, power outages, or when patron are asked by the library staff.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a parent or a guardian. The Health Sciences Library does not maintain collections or provide services intended for children. All public-access computers in the library have full access to the Internet. Content filter is provided by KACST, however, not all materials are filtered.
  • Abuse of library material is prohibited, including but not limited to: marking, highlighting, or underlining text and writing upon or folding pages, removing pages, portions or bindings, concealing library materials for the exclusive use of an individual or group, stealing library property, users and staff; vandalizing or defacing the library building, furniture or equipment.
