Nursing Services Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah Honors the participants in the Clinical Leadership Development Program


In a scientific initiative, the Nursing Administration at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, in the presence of His Excellency the Executive Director of Operations in the Western Sector, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Harazi, honored the participants in the training program for the development of clinical leadership for nursing. The program lasted 16 weeks to achieve a complete result for nursing leaders and personnel. The program is based on the Model of leadership Competencies from The American Association of Nurses (ANA). The program, in which 32 nurses from various clinical departments participated, included theoretical and practical training under the supervision of a group of specialists in the field of leadership and management from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, the College of Nursing at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health in Jeddah, and the Department of Nursing Education at the Nursing Department.

The Associate Executive Director of Nursing, Dr. Tagwa Omar, explained that this humanitarian profession, whose nursing staff provides therapeutic services to the community to preserve the health of the individual and keep him healthy, deserves our appreciation for the critical roles they play in providing care for all through their efforts to develop and improve the quality and efficiency of services provided by health care as well as their achievements and initiatives in developing the nursing profession despite the difficulties and challenges they face, And Dr. Tagwa indicated that our goal in this scientific training program is to invest in the nursing sector in order to build and enhance the capabilities of the qualified workforce in the field of nursing and protect their rights in order to achieve the upgrading of health systems to contribute effectively to meeting the requirements of the present and the future, and there is no doubt that leadership is the most influential factor in shaping the organizational culture, and nursing leadership is considered one of the most critical factors in motivating and encouraging nurses.

The Executive Director of Operations in the Western Sector, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Harazi, indicated in the honoring ceremony that nursing constitutes the backbone of the healthcare industry, as well as their achievements and the vital role they play in the health sector and their efforts in combating Corona Virus crisis to return to everyday life. Furthermore, he indicated that the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in all regions and the Western Region, In particular, emphasizes the importance of supporting the continuous hard work of the nursing staff, providing opportunities to keep pace with scientific developments, encouraging training and new specializations in the fields of nursing, and investing in this sector, which plays a significant role in achieving the upgrading and development of health services. Afterward, appreciation certificates were given to the program's participants. Thereafter, the participants explained the implemented projects during the training program.

What is worth mentioning is that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties approved 27 credit hours for the program.
