Mission
The mission of this service is to promote mental health of individuals both within hospital and community settings, and to permeate awareness and care within the patient environment for the best possible mental and psychological functioning. In addition, it offers a comprehensive and holistic assessment and management of patients of all ages of other departments within the hospital to offer Military assessments and support in forms of psychological medicine.
The members of the Section of Psychiatry continue to provide the highest quality of clinical care available in the region in the outpatient and inpatient settings, outstanding teaching to residents and peers and ongoing research efforts in clinical and educational methods.
The section is active in providing patient care activities, such as outreach clinics, which is scheduled within the community.

In-patient Care
Although the patients are admitted within the general medical pool of beds with no dedicated ward, there are no restrictions on number of admissions. Average number of inpatients at any one time is 5 patients. That involves a secure therapeutic environment, offering a variety of therapeutic techniques to get patient well quickly.
Liaison Service
Liaison service is offered to Oncology, Pediatrics, General Medical, Geriatric cases, Obstetrics & Rehabilitation cases. This involves: assessments, treatment and follow-up, psychometric evaluation and cognitive assessment.
Special Procedures
Electroconvulsive therapy 3 times per week.
Psychometric testing once per week.
Cognitive behavior therapy once per week.
Psychotherapy once per week.
